Bridget Sheedy & Daniel Finn

In 1858 Bridget Sheedy married Daniel Finn in Victoria. Bridget stated that she was
born at Tipperary. She also stated that her father's name was Rudolph Sheedy (farmer)
and her mother's was Ellen Hammersley.
Bridget at this time was 25 years of age (so born c 1833) and she worked as a house-
maid at St Field. Daniel Finn stated that he was a bachelor,lived at Dry Creek and
worked as a butcher. Finn was 28 years of age, he stated he was born at Liscawell (?)
in Co Cork, and that his parents were John Finn (farmer) and Honora Connell.
The witnesses to the marriage were Michael Gaffney and John O'Brien, and the ceremony
was performed at Saint Field by Father (?Kearns) according to the rites of the Roman
Catholic church, on the 16th of August 1858.
Bridget's mother and several of her sisters are known to also have been in Victoria:
but usually her father is recorded as 'Rody' or 'Roady' Sheedy.
Ellen Sheedy nee Hammersley died in Victoria in 1866
Mary Ann Sheedy (bc 1838.dau of Rody & Ellen) married Mr ? O'Leary. (She died 1907.)
(had children in the Woods Point/Sandhurst regon)
Alice Sheedy (bc 1841.dau of Rody & Ellen) married Richard Foley. (she died 1918)
?Ellen Sheedy (possible dau of Rody and Ellen?) married Timothy Hurley.
On the 30th November 1860 an Ellen Sheedy married at the St Francis RC Church in
Melbourne.Her parents were listed as ?Richard Sheedy and Ellen Hammersley.
