SHEEDY CREST AND SURNAME

SHEEDY and MacNAMARA

1.The crest hereshown was located in a book titled
"Irish Heraldry,Topography and Modern Ireland"
Published 1904 by Murphy and McCarthy - Dublin/New York

2.A crest is issued to an individual - not a family.
The family of that person is entitled to bear arms.

3. I wrote to the Heraldry Office of Ireland regarding the crest,and received a reply stating that the Crest is of antiquity and that it belongs to Sheedy/MacNamara but at this stage they cannot tell of whom it belongs to due to the age of the crest. We will continue to try and locate more information on same.
