[#][src:death cert] son of Richard Sheedy [stonecaster] Catherine Hickey in 1879, Michael filled in the birth cert of his daughter Lucy, and stated that he did not know how old he was.He only stated he was born in Ireland. note: there was a Miss Sheedy who was a witness to the birth of Lucy, suggesting a possible family connection. [*20081] on his marriage certificate, no age was given for either Michael nor Mary, and also no birth place, and no parents were given. Newcastle. Michael stated he was a bachelor, and Mary stated she was a spinster. Both were living at Lambton. Rather oddly, no ages, no birth place and no parents are listed on the marriage certificate. Both Mary and Michael signed their names with an "x" and the witnesses to the wedding were John Hughes and Grace Mary Hughes. They were married by Father THos Lonergan. [*cert no 2988] History c1839. Michael Sheedy born, son of Richard Sheedy [stonecaster] Catherine Hickey [src:death certificate *] 1916. Michael's death certificate states that he died at Elden Street in Lambton, New South Wales. HE had been attended by Aldred E Harker [registered doctor] who stated that Michael died of Influenza and Hypostatie, and Congestion of the Lungs which he had endured for 17 days.The informant on Michael's death certificate was his son T.Sheedy,who resised at Lambton. Michael was buried on the 8th April in the Roman Catholic cemetery at Sandgate, by R.Thomas and son.The minister who officiated was H.O Laverty,roman catholic minister, and the witness for the burial were James J Fitzpatrick and W.Stevenson. Information was given that Michael was born in Ireland and had spent fifty three years in N.S.W, giving an estimated year of arrival as c1863.
