The following is a list of persons mentioned in the Sydney Herald
for the year 1835. They are references mainly to convicts, though does list other persons who appeared in court trials as witnesses or defendants or of whom advertisements were placed in the newspaper. Many of those persons who went to trial where aquitted, but I have still listed them herewith.
Witness - refers to a person appearing in a court case as witness or
defendant and often there is personal information in regard to that person. Caution The Undersigned having lost his Certificate of Freedom, hereby cautions all Constables and others against molesting him, as he will prosecute such as do with the utmost rigour of the law. Description:- Name,Charles Robertson, per ship Katherine Stewart Forbes, 1830, native place : Wellington, Shropshire; height five foot, six inches; eyes - grey, hair - light brown, complexion -freckled.
