Sheedy McNamara, Co Clare

Preface by Jenny Fawcett 1848 The Ennistymon Union Minute Books show that a meeting was held on the 7th of July 1848. Tenders had been submitted to the meeting for the position of Relieving Officer for the Corofin and Rath Electoral Division and those who tendered were James Quinn, Thomas McMahon and Sheedy McNamara. The minutes of the meeting show that Thomas McMahon was appointed to the position at forty five pounds per annum. At the same meeting Sheedy McNamara's tender for the position as relieving officer for Kilshanny and Killilagh Districts was submitted, as was those of eight others; the position was given to Michael McNamara at forty pounds per annum.
