Sheedy Irish Tithes and Griffiths Report

Report on Sheedy Surname - Griffiths Valuation & Tithe Applotment Books,
The following  information was supplied to me in the past and I have 
recorded the same information just as it was sent to me, therefore I 
accept no responsibility for the accuracy of the information.  
I always suggest that a researcher should always try to verify original 
information - and this list is merely intended to be a source guide 
for fellow Sheedy researchers.

The following information was extracted from the Tithe Applotment Books
 [1823 - 1838]  
and from the Griffiths Valuation 
[1848 - 1864]  
The database used to generate the list below,contains a large number of 
the occupiers of titheable land recorded in the Tithe Composition Applotment
 Books and every householder and occupier of land recorded in Griffiths
 valuation ,with the exception of Dublin Citywhere large numbers of
 occupiers were omitted from the survey. 
Dublin CIty is therefore unreliable and has been removed from the database.  
The remaining records,however,relate to 915,543 different householders 
in Griffiths valuation and half that number in th Tithe Applotment Books. 
Combining the two,the records cover the 29,229 different surnames found in
 Ireland during the last century.  
The following list gives the precise location by Civil Parish, [Union/s] 
and Baroney of the surname SHEEDY.  
The first column contains the exact number of householders if recorded, 
an omission indicates the existence of an undetermined number of 
Sheedy householders in the parish.
When two years are given for the same parish the numbers of 
householders referes to the first year mentioned. 
The second year [in brackets] merely indicates the existence of the 
surname Sheedy in the parish at that date."
